MEET THE BOARD

Born and raised in the city of Sochi, Ruslan always had a passion for learning and exploring culture. After completing his early education in Sochi, he went on to pursue his studies in theology at the Tbilisi Theological Seminary and the Gelati Theological Academy and Seminary in Kutaisi, Georgia.

In 2001, Ruslan made a life-changing decision to move to the United States with his wife and two sons.

After his third son was born in the U.S.A., he started to see how important it was to preserve Georgian culture and traditions over generations. This led him to join forces with fellow Georgians to start the Colorado Georgian Community Association.

Tea Todua was born and raised in the beautiful country of Georgia, next to the Black Sea in the small town of Zugdidi. She graduated from David Tvildiani Medical University with an MD degree.

Tea is committed to building a career in medicine, serving humanity. She worked as an IR (interventional radiologist) in the department of vascular surgery and mentored students at different medical schools in Georgia.

My first visit to Tbilisi, Georgia was in 2008 to visit a possible business opportunity. This resulted in me living in Tbilisi for five months in 2010. Falling in love with Georgia, like many who have been fortunate enough to visit, I returned to Georgia each year before meeting my lovely wife, Tea Todua. Now we have three little Georgian/American daughters. I am excited to help the Colorado Georgian Community Association become a reality.

Medea Kakachia, a native of Zugdidi, Georgia, became a Colorado resident in 2024. Since then, she has been transitioning into the accounting profession and is currently pursuing her path toward becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She works as an accountant in Denver and brings strong expertise in financial management and accountability.

Medea's multicultural journey spans Georgia, Ukraine, and the United States. She studied for her Medical Doctor degree in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, and Tbilisi Georgia, and later received a Master of Public Administration degree in Denver, Colorado. Throughout her career, she has worked with U.S., European, and United Nations organizations. Most notably, she served with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she managed large-scale programs in education, workforce development, and social protection.

Through the Colorado Georgian Community Association, Medea is committed to supporting and strengthening the Georgian community by contributing her experience in project management and nonprofit development.

Tamara Kochlamazashvili was born and raised in Tbilisi Georgia. She graduated from the faculty of Western European Languages and Literature of Tbilisi independent University, affiliated with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, earning a degree in Philology with official qualification as a teacher of English Language and Literature.

In Tbilisi she worked as a teacher at the lyceum of the Bank of legal Business and Foreign Languages. She also worked as a teacher at the 'School of Tomorrow', a private bilingual institution offering both Georgian and American curricula.

After relocating to the United States in 1999, Tamara continued to passionately pursue her career in education. She advanced her academic studies by focusing on Early Childhood Education Development (ECE) , earning her credentials and Director Qualifications, certifying her mastery of Early Childhood Development , program administration and leadership standards.

Tamara is a specialized educator at 'New Horizon Academy', a leading, nationally recognized Early Childhood Education Center known for its exceptionally high standards. She brings a wealth of knowledge and 25 years of rich experience to her role. Beyond her professional achievements Tamara is a devoted wife and the mother of two boys.
